Dr. Khouri has earned a reputation for excellence in surgical treatments that address the bones, tendons, ligaments, and cartilage of the hand, wrist, and upper extremities. He utilizes the most advanced techniques and technology available to meet the diverse needs of his patients. Some of the hand and wrist conditions he treats include:
- Traumatic injuries: Dr. Khouri is experienced in a number of post traumatic reconstruction procedures, including complex bone fractures as well as ligament, nerve, and tendon repair.
- Carpal tunnel syndrome: This common condition can cause pain, numbness and tingling sensations in the wrist, hand, and fingers. It occurs when the median nerve is pinched as it passes through the carpal tunnel space between the lower forearm and the palm of the hand.
- Trigger finger: Also known as stenosing tenosynovitis, “trigger finger” describes the condition in which a finger or thumb becomes locked in a bent position. More than one finger can be affected at a time, and both hands may be involved.
- Wrist fractures: Fractures can occur in the bones of the hand, fingers and wrist for a variety of reasons, from devastating auto accidents to simple falls. If you experience tenderness, pain, or decreased movement in part of your hand, or swelling or deformity in your hand after an injury, you may have a broken bone.
Dr. Khouri believes in fostering well-informed patients. Every interaction is an opportunity to discuss symptoms, concerns, and therapeutic options. Dr. Khouri employs a practical approach to solving complex problems and incorporates the most advanced and effective techniques available.
